Day 1: LAX – Shanghai by flight Depart from USA and aboard a spacious jet for your transpacific journey.
Day 2: Arrive at Shanghai Shanghai Sky Fortune Hotel or similar ( 5 star) Upon arrival, you will be met by the tour guide of Spring Tour and be transferred by air-conditioned coach to the hotel. After this long voyage, it will be a pleasure to settle into your luxurious accommodations.
Day 3: Shanghai – Yangzhou by bus (B/L/D) Yangzhou Hyder Jianguo Hotel or same You will visit Yu Garden today in Shanghai. Built between 1559 and 1577 by local official Pan Yunduan as the private estate for his father, Yu Yuan (meaning Garden of Peace and Comfort) is a maze of Ming Dynasty pavilions, elaborate rockeries, arched bridges, and goldfish ponds, all encircled by an undulating dragon wall. Occupying just 2 hectares (5 acres), it nevertheless appears quite expansive, with room for 30 pavilions. Afterwards, you will continue your visit to the People’s Square and you will also visit a carpet factory. In the afternoon, you will take the bus to Yangzhou. A local specialty food dinner will be enjoyed tonight.
Day 4. Yangzhou – Nanjing by bus (B/L/D) Nanjing Grand Hotel or same (5 star) Yangzhou, where Marco Polo once served as a municipal official, is a city with a history of 2,500 years. Yangzhou acted as a major national political, financial and trade center and a transport hub due to its excellent location at the junction of the Yangtze River, the Grand Canal and the Huaihe River. This historical period had left Yangzhou a large number of treasures, including valuable architectures and arts, splendid culture and well-known celebrities. Your visit today will be one of the best scenic spots in Yangzhou - Slender Western Lake, named after Hangzhou's famous West Lake, this long, narrow stretch of water which meanders through Yangzhou's western limits. A long bank planted with weeping willows spans the lake; at its midpoint stands a square terrace with pavilions at each of the corners and one in the center. After lunch, you will continue your drive to Nanjing. At Nanjing, a local specialty dinner will be arranged.
Day 5. Nanjing – Wuxi by bus (B/L/D) Sheraton Wuxi Hotel & Towers or same (5 star) Nanjing is the capital of China's Jiangsu Province, and a city with a prominent place in Chinese history and culture. It served as the capital of China during several historical periods and is listed as one of the Six Great Ancient Capitals of China. Nanjing was the capital of the Republic of China before the Chinese Civil War in 1949. In Nanjing today you will visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum and Confucius Temple in downtown. Then you will continue your trip to Wuxi. Enjoy the local specialty food in Wuxi on the boat.
Day 6. Wuxi (B/L/D) Sheraton Wuxi Hotel & Towers or same (5 star) Wuxi is a city with a long history and it is located beside the Lake Taihu. In Wuxi, you will first visit the Grand Buddha at Lingshan. Located at the south of the Longshan Mountain, near Mashan, town of Wuxi, the Grand Buddha is one of the largest Buddha statues in China and also in the world. At more than 288 feet high, the Grand Buddha at Ling Shan is a bronze Sakyamuni standing Buddha outdoor, weighing over 700 tons. It was completed in the end of 1996.
Day 7. Wuxi – Suzhou by bus (B/L/D) Suzhou Nanyuan Garden Hotel or same (5 star) Wuxi is often called the "Pearl of Lake Taihu “ The next place to visit is the best place to enjoy the view of Lake Taihu is from the gardens of the Yuan Tou Zhu peninsula. Afterwards, you will visit a tea pot factory and the pearl farm. Then you will continue your trip to Suzhou – a beautiful garden city with a long history. Enjoy the delicious dinner while watching the Suzhou Pingtan show. Wearing Chinese traditional dresses, two singers sit on the stage narrating various stories while accompanied by two Chinese traditional string instruments - this is a typical scene from a Pingtan performance in various teahouses and theatres found in south eastern part of China. Day 8. Suzhou – Hangzhou by bus (B/L/D) Hangzhou Metro Park Hotel or same ( 5 star) Suzhou has been called the "Venice of the Orient", as it is an ancient town interlaced by numerous canals. Your city tour in Suzhou today will visit the Hanshan Buddhism Temple. Hanshan Temple is famed because of the poem "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge" by Tang Dynasty poet, Zhang Ji. The poem describes the melancholy scene of a dejected traveler, moored at night at Fengqiao, hearing the bells of Hanshan Temple. You will also visit the Silk Factory before you going to Hangzhou. At dinner, you will enjoy a local specialty food in Hangzhou.
Day 9. Hangzhou (B/L/D) Hangzhou Metro Park Hotel or same ( 5 star) With its cultural relics now restored and preserved, Hangzhou is known as one of the six famous ancient capitals of China. West Lake (Xihu) is an especially popular destination for its picturesque view. You will take a boat cruise along the West Lake. You will visit the famous Buddhism temple – Lingyin Temple and you must be sure to taste the famous Longjing Tea at Meiwu.
Day10. Hangzhou - Xitang – Shanghai (B/L/D) Shanghai Sky Fortune Hotel or similar ( 5 star) Today you will return back to Shanghai from Hangzhou. You will have a short stay to visit Xitang an ancient scenic town with a long history. Xitang is level, densely distributed with rivers, and has a very quiet natural environment. With nine rivers converging at this town, dividing it into eight sections, there are many stone bridges linking it together. In the older section of town, all the buildings face onto the canals, the true transportation system of the area. When you arrive at Shanghai, you will visit Nanjing Road – the biggest shopping area in China and the People’s Square. At dinner you will enjoy a local special flavor food in Lvbolang Restaurant.
Day 11: Shanghai World Expo 2010 (B) Shanghai Sky Fortune Hotel or similar (5 star) World Expo 2010 Shanghai, China is a great event to explore the full potential of urban life. Centered on innovation and interaction, it will also offer a wonderful opportunity for cross-culture dialogues. Today you will have a full day to visit this World Expo. Day 12. Shanghai – LAX by flight (B) You will take the Maglev train, the world's fastest train and the first one in operation, to the airport and take the flight back home.
